Who can take part

  • You must have a type of cervical cancer confirmed by biopsy (squamous cell, adenocarcinoma, or mixed types).
  • Your cancer must be at stage IIB, III, or IVA (locally advanced) and not have spread to distant parts of the body.
  • You should be at least 20 years old and in generally good health (able to do daily activities without much help).
  • Your blood counts and kidney function must be within certain limits to safely receive chemotherapy.
  • You cannot have had radiation therapy to the pelvis before, or certain prior surgeries for this cervical cancer.
  • You must not have another active cancer (except very early skin or bladder cancer) in the last 3 years.
