Who can take part
- You are a teen (roughly ages 8–16 depending on whether you’re a boy or a girl)
- Your height issue is considered “very tall” and not caused by a treatable medical problem
- You’ve started puberty (Tanner stage about 2 or 3+ depending on sex)
- Your growth plates are expected to still allow significant leg growth (doctor estimates at least about 8 cm of remaining growth)
- You and your parent/guardian agree to the growth-limiting surgery and to join the study
- You do not have medical or psychological reasons that would make surgery unsafe or unlikely to be appropriate
