- You have had your first stroke (not a repeat stroke).
- You are currently in the hospital for stroke care.
- Your stroke event happened within 15 days of your hospital admission.
- You can do the test and have enough thinking ability (MMSE score 21 or higher).
- You do not have major vision or hearing problems that would block the test.
- You have not had limb amputation and the stroke was not in the cerebellum.
