This trial tests tranexamic acid to see if it improves two types of long-lasting skin pigment problems (lichen planus pigmentosus and erythema dyschromicum perstans). You may be asked to stop other pigment treatments for about a month before starting, and you’ll be screened for clotting and pregnancy-related risks.

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have a diagnosis of LPP, EDP, or AD (specific pigment skin conditions)
  • You can understand the study and its risks, and you can sign consent
  • You stopped all topical or oral treatments for these pigment problems (except sunscreen) at least 1 month before starting
  • You do not have a history of blood clot problems (or blood clot events like DVT or stroke)
