- You are female, aged 18–50 years old
- You have melasma (dark facial patches) that is bilateral and symmetrical, and mild to moderate in severity
- Your skin type is Fitzpatrick III or IV (medium to olive/dark brown skin)
- You have not had melasma-specific treatment in the past 4 weeks
- You have not had facial procedures (peeling, laser, or microneedling) in the past 3 months
- You are not pregnant, not planning to become pregnant, and not breastfeeding
