Hantavirus registry for people with kidney or lung symptoms

Hantavirus InfectionsHemorrhagic Fever With Renal SyndromeNephropathia EpidemicaHantavirus Cardiopulmonary Syndrome

Part of Infections clinical trials.

This study is a registry, meaning it collects health information and possibly test results from people who have evidence of hantavirus infection along with specific illness symptoms. It may help researchers better understand how hantavirus affects the kidneys or the heart/lungs (and how to recognize it).

  • You also have signs of nephropathia epidemica (a hantavirus kidney illness) OR signs of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS).
  • Alternatively, you have signs of hantavirus cardiopulmonary syndrome (HCPS).
  • Your symptoms must match kidney or heart/lung involvement (not just infection without illness symptoms).
  • If you only have lab evidence of hantavirus infection and no matching symptoms, you likely cannot join.
