Who can take part
- You are a woman age 20 or older
- Your cervix cancer is one of these: squamous cell, adenocarcinoma, or adenosquamous
- Your cancer is early stage (FIGO 2009) stage IB1, meaning specific limits on invasion and tumor size
- You need surgery of a certain type for cervical cancer (type B or C hysterectomy, Querle-Morrow)
- Your blood counts and organ tests must be within safe ranges (white cells, platelets, kidney, and liver numbers)
- You must be able to do daily activities fairly well (ECOG 0 or 1) and not be pregnant
