Who can take part

  • You are 75 years old or older when you were injured
  • Your elbow injury is confirmed by X-rays as a displaced olecranon fracture (joint surface shift of at least 2 mm)
  • The surgery/treatment starts within 2 weeks of the injury
  • Your fracture is not a Mayo type 3 pattern
  • The fracture is not open, not caused by disease (pathological), and there isn’t a related severe nerve injury in the same arm
  • You can understand consent in Finnish, Swedish, or Danish (and are physically able to have surgery)
