Who can take part

  • Be able and willing to sign consent papers
  • Have at least one major health issue (ASA 3 or higher)
  • Be scheduled for major surgery for areas like heart, lungs, abdomen/viscera, urology, or major bones/joints
  • Be at least 2 weeks before your surgery at the time of screening
  • Have low fitness before surgery (for example low VO2peak) or an abnormal breathing test result
