Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- Your baby was born at 24–32 weeks, or is expected to stay in the NICU at least 4 weeks
- Your baby was born at UC Davis or was transferred to the UC Davis NICU within 7 days
- You start pumping early (within 12 hours) and pump at least 6 times in each 24-hour period starting 72 hours after delivery
- You can pump, weigh, record, and collect milk over study days (24-hour pooled milk samples)
- You plan to feed your baby breast milk for at least 3 months and avoid certain medicines/supplements during the study
