Who can take part
- You have colon or rectal adenocarcinoma that has spread (metastatic disease).
- Your tumor must show MGMT is “silenced”: MGMT gene methylation above a set threshold and no MGMT protein seen on testing.
- Your tumor must be mismatch repair–normal and microsatellite stable (often written as pMMR/MSS).
- You have not had chemotherapy specifically for metastatic disease before.
- You can provide stored tumor tissue (or fresh slides) and a blood sample for the needed biomarker tests.
- Your blood counts and organ function need to be within safe limits, and you must be able to take oral medicines.
