You would be screened for depression severity, medication history, and safety limits, and then be asked to keep your depression medicines stable during the study.

Who can take part
- You are 65 or older, and you may be an outpatient or admitted patient
- You have depression that meets diagnostic criteria and a depression score of 17 or higher
- You have tried at least one antidepressant at a proper dose and did not get enough benefit (including your current one)
- You plan to keep your current antidepressant dose the same for the stimulation period (more than 6 weeks)
- You can read, understand, and sign the informed consent form
- Your thinking and memory are good enough (a brief test score of 24 or higher)
