Who can take part

  • You have colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver (liver metastases) and you have not had chemotherapy for this liver disease yet
  • Your treatment plan must include starting chemotherapy for liver metastases (FOLFOX, FOLFIRI, or FOLFOXIRI), with or without a biologic medicine
  • You have at least one liver metastasis that measures 1 centimeter or larger
  • You are able to have follow-up visits and scans at MD Anderson before surgery and after surgery
  • You cannot have had pre-surgery chemotherapy for these liver metastases, and you will not have radiation, ablation, or other non-surgical liver treatments
