Who can take part
- You are a teen age 12–18 who is currently hospitalized at Stanford’s inpatient adolescent psychiatry unit
- You are in the hospital for suicidal thoughts and/or a suicide attempt
- At least one parent or guardian is willing to join the parent portion of the study
- Both the teen and the parent/guardian can speak English well enough to complete study meetings and forms
- You do not have a serious mental or medical problem that would make it hard to do study assessments or treatment (for example, acute psychosis, major brain/neurologic problems, or severe malnutrition)
