Who can take part

  • You are 40 years old or older, and you can give informed consent
  • You have idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) confirmed by specialists using guideline-based criteria
  • If you take anti-fibrotic IPF medicines, you’ve been on the same one for at least 4 weeks before randomization
  • You must be able to do study breathing tests (spirometry) reliably
  • You cannot take lansoprazole or other proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) or certain related stomach medicines in the 2 weeks before randomization
