Who can take part

  • You’re between 18 and 75 years old
  • Your stomach cancer is confirmed by biopsy as adenocarcinoma
  • The cancer is early (T1) with no distant spread, and it’s in the lower third of the stomach
  • You have no spread to far-away organs, and no tumor is invading nearby major organs
  • You’re well enough for surgery (ECOG 0–1 and ASA I–III)
  • You can be scheduled for laparoscopic distal gastrectomy and agree in writing to join the study
