This study looks at how a person’s immune system responds after exposure to Ixodes (black-legged) tick bites. It aims to better understand the body’s early immune reaction after tick exposure, using blood tests and small skin samples.

Who can take part
- Be willing to follow all study steps and stay in the study for its full time
- Be 18 years or older
- Have no known tick bites and no past history of tick-borne diseases
- Have normal blood test results for allergy-related proteins (IgE) and a blood marker (tryptase)
- If you could get pregnant, use reliable birth control starting at least 1 month before tick placement and continue during the study and 3 months after
- Have enough healthy blood counts (hemoglobin: at least 13 for men, 12 for women)
