This trial studies cabozantinib given after standard treatment to try to keep high-risk pediatric solid tumors from coming back or getting worse. It is offered to children and young adults whose cancer has not fully disappeared but is not progressing at the start of this maintenance phase.

Who can take part

  • Be age 18 months to under 40 years at enrollment
  • Be in good enough health/activity for treatment (performance score of at least 50)
  • Have specific high-risk tumor types/flags (trial “strata”) and a non-progressing status at enrollment
  • Finish prior cancer treatment and allow the required “waiting time” before starting cabozantinib
  • Have adequate blood, kidney, liver, pancreas, and heart/QT rhythm test results around enrollment
  • Be able to swallow intact tablets and meet medication/wound/scan timing rules (including starting within set timelines)
