Who can take part
- You have an acute tibia shaft fracture (shinbone) without major bone fragmentation, specifically type 42-A or 42-B
- Your tibia fracture surgery (intramedullary nailing) was done within 72 hours of being admitted
- Your age is 18 to 65 years
- You can complete the study questionnaires in Finnish and can cooperate with the study
- Your situation is not an open fracture (wound exposing bone) and not due to stress/pathologic causes
- Before the injury, you could walk without needing walking aids like crutches
