Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 60 years old.
  • You have a broken thigh or shin bone that was fixed with a metal rod inside the bone.
  • You are allowed to put weight on your leg right after surgery without restrictions.
  • Your surgery happened within the last 3 weeks.
  • You are able to walk on your own before the injury.
  • You have no other major injuries (like head injury, nerve damage, or multiple traumas) that would prevent you from using walkers or crutches.
  • You are able to speak English and can attend follow-up visits.
