This study tests a school/teacher approach (rolled out in real school settings) to improve teaching for early primary students. It will include rural primary schools and the teachers and students in classrooms for grades 1–4.

Who can take part
- Your school must be a low-cost private primary school in rural Darjeeling or Kalimpong
- Your school must not receive government aid
- Your school must have at least 3 full-time classroom teachers
- The teacher must work at the participating school and teach primary grades (1–4)
- The teacher must be 18 years or older
- Your child must be enrolled in class I–IV (grades 1–4) with a participating teacher, and have a parent/guardian who can consent
