Who can take part
- You are female and between 22 and 75 years old.
- You are planning immediate breast reconstruction on one or both sides using tissue expanders placed above the chest muscle (pre-pectoral).
- Your planned mastectomy can be preventive (prophylactic) or for cancer, and nipple-sparing or skin-sparing surgery is okay.
- During surgery, the surgeon must see that the skin covering your breast is thick enough and can survive well (viable) for immediate pre-pectoral reconstruction.
- You cannot be pregnant, and you must not be having delayed reconstruction.
- Your plan should not be direct-to-implant (no tissue expander first), and you should not have a specific mixed plan where one side is reconstructed above the muscle and the other is reconstructed under the muscle.
