Hypofractionated pelvic radiation for advanced cervical cancer without chemo

Who can take part

  • You are a woman age 18 or older.
  • Your cervical cancer has been confirmed on biopsy as squamous, adenocarcinoma, or adenosquamous cancer.
  • Your cancer stage is advanced (FIGO 2018 Stage IIIA to IIIC1, or IVA), and the study needs pelvic lymph-node spread for the early (phase 1) group.
  • You cannot have chemotherapy due to a medical reason, and you are able to receive brachytherapy (a type of internal radiation given in the hospital).
  • You can take study visits and treatments: WHO/ECOG performance status is 0–2, you’re expected to live at least 12 weeks, and your blood counts are strong enough (neutrophils, platelets, hemoglobin, and white blood cells meet minimums).
  • You have not had certain prior treatments and situations: no prior pelvic radiation or hysterectomy, no prior treatment for cervical cancer, and no other cancer medicines given at the same time. Also, you are not pregnant and do not have serious uncontrolled illness or active infection that could make safety/compliance difficult.
