Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for on-pump cardiac (heart) surgery
  • Your heart pumping strength (LVEF) is 50% or higher
  • Your kidney function (eGFR) is 50 mL/min or higher
  • You do not have major lung pressure problems (not high pulmonary artery pressure)
  • You are not having surgery for an infected heart valve (endocarditis)
