Who can take part

  • Baby was born between 26 weeks 0 days and 30 weeks 6 days (26+0 to 30+6)
  • Baby is delivered at Rigshospitalet or transferred to their NICU within 24 hours
  • Baby needs preventative antibiotics because of certain pregnancy/labor risks (doctor reasons like membrane rupture, Group B strep, or fever during labor)
  • Parents can sign consent for the study
  • Baby is not born with a major birth defect
  • Baby does not need breathing machines or heart/blood-pressure medicines before the treatment starts
