Who can take part
- Be a veteran age 18 or older
- Have PTSD (per DSM-5 criteria)
- Have at least one substance use disorder (per DSM-5 criteria)
- Be approved for substance use treatment at VA Connecticut Healthcare System
- Not have certain conditions like schizophrenia or unmedicated mania/bipolar disorder
- Be able to complete the writing sessions and study questions (for example, no reading barriers)
