Sinus lift with different perforations to grow new bone
Part of Mouth & dental clinical trials.
This trial studies how many small openings (perforations) are made in the sinus floor during a sinus lift procedure, to see which approach helps form more new bone. You might consider it if you need sinus floor elevation on both sides for dental bone support.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You need sinus floor elevation on both sides (bilateral sinus lift).
- You have a thin upper jaw bone height of about 2–6 mm where the tooth will go.
- Your upper jaw bone width is more than 4 mm at the target area.
- Your gum (periodontal) disease must be controlled, not getting worse.
- You do not have active or ongoing sinus infection/inflammation (sinusitis).

This study tests a new type of bone graft putty for people who need a sinus lift before getting dental implants. It may be an option if you have some existing bone and are generally healthy or have well-controlled diabetes.
This pilot study tests a modified technique to add bone in the upper jaw area (the sinus floor) so dental implants may be possible. You may be considered if you have a small amount of remaining bone height and enough bone width, and you do not have certain infections or risk factors.
This study tests a new bone graft material for sinus lifts, a procedure to add bone in the upper jaw so dental implants can be placed. It may help people who are missing bone in the back of their upper jaw due to enlarged sinuses.
This trial tests a new way to lift the sinus floor using a special drill and a surgical guide, placing a dental implant at the same time. It may help people who need an implant in the upper jaw but don't have enough bone height.
This study compares two ways to build up bone in the upper jaw for dental implants. You may qualify if you need a sinus lift and have healthy gums and overall health.
This trial tests two different ways to lift the sinus floor to make room for a dental implant in the upper jaw. It may be an option if you are missing a back tooth and have enough bone height.
