This study tests an easy-to-use smart system (called ENABLE) that helps assess whether a prosthetic socket fits your leg well. It may help improve comfort and reduce skin problems by making sure the socket fit is assessed in a consistent, affordable way.

Who can take part

  • You have one transtibial (below-knee) amputation on only one side.
  • You have used your current prosthetic leg for at least 1 year.
  • You’ve used your current socket for at least 6 months without major skin problems or major changes.
  • You can walk for 3 minutes without needing to stop to rest.
  • The fibula bone length in your residual limb is more than half of the fibula length on your other (unaffected) side.
