Total pancreas surgery with insulin graft for chronic pancreatitis pain

Benign Pancreatic NeoplasmChronic PancreatitisRecurrent Acute Pancreatitis

Part of Digestive system clinical trials.

This trial tests a two-part surgery: removing the pancreas and then putting the patient’s own insulin-making cells back into the body to help control long-term pancreatitis pain. It is aimed at adults with severe, long-lasting pain who have not improved with medicines or procedures.

Checking how well transplanted islet cells work in chronic pancreatitis

This study looks at how well a treatment works after islet cell transplantation done for people with long-term (chronic) pancreatitis. It may help doctors better understand graft (transplant) function and how to choose the best approach and follow-up.

Pirfenidone for treating chronic pancreatitis pain

This trial tests whether pirfenidone, an oral medication that may reduce scarring and inflammation, can help relieve pain in people with chronic pancreatitis. If you have ongoing pain or frequent flare-ups, this study could offer a new treatment option.

NCT03434392Recruiting
Testing pain-sensing to predict treatment response in chronic pancreatitis

This study uses a special pain-testing method to better predict how people with chronic pancreatitis-related pain (or similar conditions) will respond to treatment. It may help doctors choose therapies that work better for each person’s type of pain.
