Whole pancreas removal with islet transplant for high-risk pancreatic tumors

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You have a tumor in your pancreas, bile duct, duodenum, or nearby area.
  • Your pancreas is soft and your main pancreatic duct is very narrow (2 mm or less).
  • Your body is still making some insulin (measurable C-peptide level).
  • You are not pregnant, actively using alcohol/drugs, or have serious mental health issues that would interfere.
  • You do not already have diabetes with no insulin production, and you don't have a major blood clot or high blood pressure in your liver.
