Probiotic for kids taking acid-reducing medicine
Part of Infections clinical trials.
This trial studies whether a specific probiotic (Lactobacillus reuteri) is helpful for children who need acid-reducing medicine for reflux or stomach discomfort. It may help improve stomach symptoms while they are on or need treatment with proton pump inhibitors.

This study looks at how a common medicine for acid reflux (PPI) affects the 'good' bacteria in children's guts. Researchers will collect stool samples over time to see how the balance of bacteria changes.
This trial tests if a mix of two probiotics (L. Rhamnosus GG and L. Plantarum 299V) can help reduce belly pain in children ages 4 to 18 who have irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). If your child has daily belly pain and has been diagnosed with IBS, this treatment might offer relief.
This study tests whether a probiotic called Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG can improve gut bacteria changes caused by proton pump inhibitors (acid-reducing medicines). It mainly involves people who are otherwise healthy and do not currently have ongoing stomach or gut symptoms.
This early-stage trial tests whether a probiotic supplement can help support treatment of reflux disease (GERD) in patients already taking a standard reflux medication. Researchers want to see if adding probiotics might improve symptoms or overall digestive health.
This trial tests if a daily probiotic can help young children who get frequent respiratory infections like colds and coughs. It aims to see if the probiotic reduces how often infections happen.
This study tests whether a probiotic (a 'good bacteria' supplement) can help balance the gut bacteria in young children. Your child may be able to join if they are healthy, under 7, and haven't taken probiotics or antibiotics recently.
