Who can take part
- You are pregnant and less than 20 weeks along (from your due-date counting).
- You plan to give birth at Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center.
- You plan to keep living in Guangzhou for at least 3 years.
- This study is for singleton pregnancies (not twins or other multiples).
- You can’t have certain not-well-controlled health problems (like diabetes, high blood pressure, or thyroid disease), major heart/lung illnesses, or other serious conditions.
- You can’t take certain medicines (aspirin, metformin, or low-molecular-weight heparin) for the study.
- You should be able to read and write, and you shouldn’t have serious mental health or eating disorders.
