Who can take part

  • You are pregnant and less than 20 weeks along
  • You plan to deliver at Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center
  • You live in Guangzhou (or plan to stay in Guangzhou with your child for over 3 years)
  • You should not have significant heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, or hyperthyroidism
  • You should not currently be taking antidepressants or other treatments for depression
  • When your samples are collected, you should not be sick with an infection
