Test sounds and hearing responses in young children with autism

Who can take part

  • Be a child age 3 to 6 during the hearing/sound assessment
  • If in the autism group: have an autism diagnosis made by a pediatrician or child mental/brain specialist
  • Be able to complete the BAEP hearing test, and your BAEP results must be in the normal range
  • If not diagnosed with autism: be a child with typical development for age, or be evaluated due to special risk factors for hearing problems or language delay
  • Have no current ear infection or ear structure problem around the time of testing
