Who can take part

  • You have confirmed prostate cancer of the adenocarcinoma type and are planning radiation to cure it (possibly with hormone therapy).
  • Your cancer stage is M0 based on usual scans (no spread to distant sites).
  • You can read English and have the physical and mental ability to complete study visits and follow-up.
  • You are age 18 to under 70, and your general activity level is fairly good (ECOG 0 to 2).
  • Your kidneys are working well enough (creatinine clearance above 30 mL/min) and your blood counts and liver tests meet lab thresholds.
  • Your starting blood pressure is above 130 (systolic).
