Who can take part

  • You are at least 22 years old.
  • You have a benign (non-cancer) esophagus narrowing that already needed at least 2 prior dilations (stretching).
  • Your swallowing difficulty score is at least 2, and the narrowing is under 13 mm wide.
  • The narrowing length is 5 cm or less in total, and it can be treated with one balloon during the procedure.
  • You can have endoscopy (camera test) and sedation/anesthesia safely, and you can attend follow-up visits.
