Who can take part
- You are age 18 or older and have chosen hemodialysis for kidney replacement
- You can understand the study and sign consent
- Ultrasound shows your upper-arm vein is at least 2.0 mm wide
- Your artery and vein near the planned connection are large enough (at least 2.0 mm) and close enough to each other
- The study team decides you should not use a forearm fistula as the best option for you
- You are not pregnant, not planning pregnancy in the next 6 months, and not choosing peritoneal dialysis or transplant soon
