Who can take part
- Be 18 years or older and able to give consent (or have a legal representative if needed)
- Have a complicated Staph aureus infection, such as Staph in the blood or a deep infection like bone/joint infection or a deep abscess
- Be starting or already receiving flucoxacillin (FLU) or cefazolin (CZO) through an IV within the last 24 hours
- Not be on hemodialysis, and have kidney function not extremely low (eGFR 10 or above)
- Not have MRSA (a resistant type of Staph aureus) or severe liver scarring/cirrhosis (Child B or C)
- Not be taking other investigational study drugs within the last 30 days and not be likely to stop or leave the hospital within 48 hours
