Who can take part
- You are an adult (age 80 or younger) planning a double lung transplant
- You can consent and complete mental-health/coping screening (like SIPAT) and other transplant evaluations
- You must not have cancer spread outside the chest (no extrapulmonary disease)
- Your cancer/condition must fit one of these groups: selected lung non-small cell lung cancer, lung-only metastatic cancer, or serious breathing failure from cancer within the last 5 years
- Your cancer work-up must show no brain metastases and no unidentified primary cancer (for the lung-cancer group)
- You must be medically eligible for lung transplant (including BMI 35 or lower)
