PET/CT scan test for neuroendocrine tumors with a special tracer

Neuroendocrine Tumors (NET)

This study uses a PET/CT scan with a small amount of radioactive tracer to see how neuroendocrine tumors are behaving in adults. It may help doctors better detect and evaluate these tumors, especially when symptoms suggest a carcinoid-type hormone problem.

Who can take part

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • If you can become pregnant, you must not be within the last 10 days of your last menstrual period and you will need a negative pregnancy test.
  • Be able and willing to follow study instructions and attend required visits.
  • Have symptoms suggestive of a neuroendocrine tumor or carcinoid-type hormone symptoms, or have a biopsy-proven neuroendocrine tumor.
  • If you are pregnant or currently nursing, you cannot join.
  • Do not have had surgery in the area being scanned within the last 2 months.
