Testing a new implant drug delivery device for kidney cancer

This early-phase study tests a new small implant (“IMD”) that can deliver a drug for people with kidney cancer going to surgery. If you qualify, you would get the implant placed through the skin and later have it removed during your operation, along with extra lab checks and genetic testing.

Who can take part
- You can understand the study and agree to sign informed consent
- You have confirmed or suspected kidney cancer (localized or spread) and are scheduled for nephrectomy or metastatectomy
- Your surgery area (the planned lesion) must be at least 1 cm
- You must be 18 or older and medically stable for both skin-based procedures and standard surgery
- Recent lab tests must be safe for procedures (white blood cells and platelets up, and blood clotting tests within allowed limits)
- You must be willing to do genetic testing with sample sequencing and share de-identified data for research
