Anastomotic Leak Esophagus

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old and can sign consent before any study steps
  • You have a lower esophagus cancer (up to Siewert II) and are planned for elective minimally invasive Ivor Lewis esophagectomy
  • During surgery, the study needs an intrathoracic circular stapled esophagogastric connection to be made
  • You cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You must not have had previous esophagus or stomach surgery
  • Your blood counts/medicines must allow blood testing (including no Avastin in the last 30 days and no inability to stop certain blood-thinning medicines)
