Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older and had an ischemic stroke in the front part of the brain (carotid or MCA area).
  • A scan (CTA or MRA) confirms a large blood-vessel blockage (LVO).
  • Your stroke is moderate to severe (NIHSS score 6 or higher) and your CT brain scan shows enough preserved tissue (ASPECTS 6 or higher).
  • Your treatment decision/randomization happens between 6 and 24 hours after stroke symptoms began.
  • You were functioning independently before the stroke (pre-stroke mRS 0–2) and can complete MRI (including perfusion imaging).
  • You can sign consent and commit to a 90-day follow-up visit or assessment.
