Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You had an ischemic stroke (clot blocking blood flow) within the last 24 hours
- Imaging shows a blockage in a medium-sized brain artery, such as the M2 or M3 segment of the middle cerebral artery
- Your stroke symptoms are moderate to severe (score of 8 or more on the NIH stroke scale)
- You were independent before the stroke (able to do daily activities without help)
- You have no bleeding in the brain or other serious conditions that would make the procedure unsafe
