Who can take part

  • You have a chronic foot ulcer lasting at least 6 weeks
  • The ulcer area is between 2 and 15 square centimeters
  • Your wound is not actively infected, and you’re not taking antibiotics for it
  • Your blood sugar is well controlled (fasting ≤110 mg/dL and HbA1c <6.5%)
  • Blood flow to your foot is adequate (ABI is at least 0.8, and foot tissue oxygen is adequate if needed)
  • For venous ulcers, ultrasound shows vein backflow longer than 0.5 seconds
