Who can take part
- Be age 18 to 75 and agree to sign written consent
- Have PBC confirmed in at least two ways (blood tests and/or liver biopsy)
- Have tried UDCA for 4–6 weeks but your liver tests are still too high (especially ALP or TBIL, and/or AST)
- Have a body mass index (BMI) between 17 and 28
- Not have other liver diseases besides PBC
- Not be pregnant or breastfeeding (if you can get pregnant)
