Fenofibrate for Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC)

Primary Biliary Cholangitis

Treatments studied

Part of Digestive system clinical trials.

This trial tests whether the drug fenofibrate can help people with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), a chronic liver disease. It is for patients who have already taken fenofibrate in a previous study and want to continue treatment.

NCT05749822Recruiting· Phase 2/Phase 3
Fenofibrate for primary biliary cholangitis with stable cirrhosis

This trial studies whether fenofibrate (a cholesterol medicine) can improve outcomes in people with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) who already take ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) but still have abnormal liver blood tests. It specifically looks at people with “compensated” (stable) cirrhosis—meaning the liver disease is present but not causing severe complications right now.

NCT05751967Recruiting· Phase 3
Fenofibrate plus ursodeoxycholic acid for primary biliary cholangitis

This trial tests whether adding fenofibrate to ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) can improve liver test results in people with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) who did not respond enough to UDCA alone. It aims to see if the combination works better and is safe for adults with persistent, abnormal liver markers.

NCT07449793Recruiting
PBC treatment response and long-term health outcomes

This research study tracks how well Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC) responds to standard medication (UDCA) and what happens to patients' health over time. It may help doctors understand which treatments work best for different people.

Study of CS0159 for primary biliary cholangitis with poor UDCA response

This trial tests an experimental drug (CS0159) for people with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) who either didn't respond well to or couldn't take the standard treatment UDCA. It aims to improve liver function and reduce symptoms.

NCT04650243Recruiting· Phase 4
Testing whether lowering UDCA helps people with PBC

This trial looks at whether slowly reducing UDCA (a medication for primary biliary cholangitis) is safe and still helpful in people whose liver tests have improved. It may help some patients avoid higher doses if their disease is well controlled.

Monitoring the response to ursodiol and seladelpar for PBC

This trial tracks how well the combination of ursodiol and seladelpar works in people with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), a liver disease. It aims to see if this treatment helps control symptoms and liver function.
