Study tissue changes around dental implants in adults

Peri-implantitis

Part of Mouth & dental clinical trials.

This trial studies signs of inflammation and tissue change around dental implants (especially in people with peri-implantitis) compared with people getting implants in healthier gum/bone areas. It may help doctors understand what markers to look for to better monitor or treat implant problems.

  • If in the comparison group: you have missing back teeth (premolar to molar) and enough healthy bone for a new implant, plus at least 3 mm of keratinized gum tissue.

Gum proteins and inflammation around dental implants

This trial looks at specific proteins found in the gum tissue around dental implants. The goal is to understand how these proteins may be linked to inflammation in people with peri-implantitis, a condition that affects the gums and bone around implants.

Surgery for gum and bone infections around dental implants

This trial tests a surgical treatment for peri-implantitis, which is a gum infection around a dental implant that causes bone loss. It aims to help people who need this procedure and can commit to follow-up visits.

NCT04831060Recruiting
Study of inflammation in gum and implant disease

This trial studies people with advanced gum disease (periodontitis) or gum inflammation around dental implants (peri-implantitis), and compares them with people who have healthy gums. The goal is to understand inflammation and how it relates to these dental conditions.

Gum health study for treated dental implants

This study looks at how gums react to plaque buildup around dental implants that were previously treated for infection. It may help understand if one treatment method leads to healthier gums.

Study of Immune Causes of Implant Inflammation

This trial studies severe inflammation around dental implants (peri-implantitis). It aims to understand the immune and tissue changes causing this condition, which may lead to new treatment approaches.

NCT05415111Recruiting
Gum graft treatment to improve inflammation around dental implants

This trial tests whether adding a soft-tissue gum graft procedure can improve healing and reduce inflammation in moderate to severe peri-implantitis (inflammation and tissue damage around a dental implant). It may help patients by targeting both the gum tissue and the area around the implant that is bleeding or has deep pockets.
