  • Be age 19 to 70
  • Be having an elective (planned) surgery
  • Be an ASA health status 1 or 2 (generally healthy or mild disease)
  • Not receive regional anesthesia (like nerve blocks for the whole area)
  • Have stable key health tests: blood pressure not too high, diabetes not poorly controlled, liver tests not too abnormal, and kidney function not too low
