Who can take part

  • You are at least 18 years old
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is 25 or higher, and you weigh under 396 pounds
  • You own a smartphone and agree to install and use the SMARTer app
  • You are not currently enrolled in a formal weight loss program
  • You can’t be pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to become pregnant
  • You can’t use certain weight-loss treatments or have recent serious heart/stroke problems
